frequently asked questions

a few things to know

do you accept insurance?
At this time, we do not accept insurance. Head spa services fall under wellness and relaxation treatments, not Registered Massage Therapy (RMT), which is typically required for insurance coverage. While our treatments offer many therapeutic benefits, they are considered a luxury wellness experience rather than a medical service.
We’re always happy to provide a receipt if needed for personal records.
Why are head spa and treatment services charged by hair length and density?
Our head spa pricing is based on hair length and selected treatments because longer or thicker hair requires more time, more product, and additional steps to ensure the treatment is done properly. Different treatment options also use specialized products and techniques tailored to individual scalp and hair needs. This allows us to deliver a fully customized, high-quality experience for every guest.
Why are blowouts not included and offered as an add-on?
Our head spa experience is designed to focus fully on scalp health, relaxation, and treatment benefits. Blowouts are offered as an optional add-on because not all guests want heat styling after their service, and adding it for everyone would increase the overall service time and cost. This allows clients to customize their experience and only add what they truly want.
If I don’t add on a blowout, will I be leaving with wet hair?
No. A rough dry is still fully dried hair. It simply means the hair is dried without styling, such as a blowout or curling iron. Your hair will be dry and comfortable, just not styled.
If I decide to have a blowout + style later, can I book one at my appointment?
You’re welcome to ask on the day of your appointment. However, we schedule our services very carefully, and due to a busy schedule, blowout add-ons are subject to availability. If we don’t have the time allocated, we may need to decline. We appreciate your understanding and recommend booking add-ons in advance whenever possible.
Can i get a colour service the same day as my head spa treatment?
Unfortunately, no. We do not recommend booking colour services on the same day as a head spa. Head spa treatments deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and stimulate the scalp, which leaves it more open and sensitive. Applying hair colour immediately after can increase the risk of irritation and may affect colour absorption and results.
For scalp health and optimal colour performance, we recommend waiting at least 48 hours after a head spa before having a colour service.
Haircuts, however, are absolutely welcome on the same day and pair beautifully with a head spa experience.
Do you sell the products that you use during your service?
Absolutely. We use Milbon, a high-end Japanese brand that is scientifically backed and medically formulated to treat and support scalp health. We highly recommend continuing your scalp care at home using the Milbon Vivacity line to maintain and enhance your results. To learn more, click here.
Is the headspa service safe if i am pregnant?
Our Head Spa treatments are generally considered safe during pregnancy when performed gently and with proper care. We use Milbon products, which are professionally formulated and safe for regular use. However, for precaution, we do not use certain essential oils on pregnant clients and will always modify the treatment for comfort and safety. As with any spa service, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider prior to booking.
How many guests can you accommodate for head spa services at the same time?
We are able to accommodate up to three head spa guests at the same time, as we have three private head spa rooms.
Each appointment is carefully scheduled to allow for proper room preparation, sanitation, and reset time between guests, ensuring every client receives a relaxed, unhurried, and elevated experience.
For group bookings or multiple guests, advance booking is highly recommended so we can coordinate timing and availability accordingly.
